About once a month Andre the Pygmy Hedgehog has a bath. Pygmy hedgehogs are prone to having dry and sore skin so I use his special body wash and a tooth brush and give him a gentle wash to help sooth him. He seems to like being in the water and is very good at standing still whilst I lather him up and make sure he is all clean. Here are some pictures of him in the bath and getting dried. The picture of him sticking his tongue out is just after he was rewarded with a meal worm treat. I think he looks very handsome after his pamper!
Mark and I are are joining a few friends for a weekend away in the Peak District. It’s about an hour away from here so we are renting a car and hopefully taking a scenic drive to a lovely cottage. Of course we’ll be bringing Andre the Pygmy Hedgehog too, he deserves a holiday!
I have never been to the Peak District but from what I’m told it should be a lovely relaxing scenic place. Hopefully if the weather stays OK we’ll be indulging in a BBQ and taking a nice walk around. We’ll be back on Sunday night, Exciting!
On Wednesday night I decided it was about time Andre had his first bath! I filled our bath tub with some nice warm water and let him have a wonder around. He did look very tiny! He seemed quite relaxed and wasn’t nervous of me putting the water on him! When he was all clean I wrapped him up in a nice fluffy towel and stroked his little face until he was all sleepy. Bless him, he’s such a good boy!
